Join us at Hip~Hop & Teach Academy, for a unique and engaging 9-week journey, through the first quarter of our accredited, self-paced, 6th grade, full curriculum. This class covers Math, ELA, Science, Social Studies, and an interactive Homeroom where students will learn essential study skills, time management, and how to effectively use various educational programs. Students will also have the opportunity to build a strong rapport with their experienced, licensed teacher, who brings several years of middle school teaching experience and an energetic, loving personality to each and every one of her learners. The homeroom will also be a place where positive affirmations will be shared, along with motivational quotes, and the teacher will share some of her own personal experiences that she went through when she was in 6th grade, as a way for the learners to relate to their teacher while potentially learning some of life's most interesting lessons. What will be taught? - Math: Aligned with CCSS and national standards, our Math lessons will cover key concepts such as percentages, conversions, fractions, decimals, and an introduction to basic algebra, with practical applications to enhance understanding. - ELA (English Language Arts): Students will delve into reading comprehension, grammar, writing skills, and vocabulary development through engaging and interactive lessons. - Science: Our Science curriculum includes hands-on experiments and exploration of topics like ecosystems, the scientific method, and basic physics principles. - Social Studies: Students will explore geography, and civics studies, with a focus on critical thinking and real-world connections. - Homeroom: This unique component of our program teaches self worth, self confidence, and self respect. It also focuses on study skills, time management, and program navigation. This special addition also provides a space for students to set and understand learning expectations, socialize, while building rapport with their teacher and peers. - Interactive Platform: Students can respond to lessons and ask questions on the Outschool platform. The teacher will check for student posts and questions every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, ensuring timely feedback and support. - Engaging Activities: Our teaching style is catered to various learning types, incorporating games, slides, video clips, discussions, and interactive gamification apps to make learning exciting and enjoyable. - Personalized Learning: The "I Do, You Do, We Do" approach ensures that each student receives personalized attention and guidance, making the class as close to an in-person experience as possible. Additional Details: - Accredited Curriculum: Our curriculum aligns with CCSS and national standards set by the Department of Education, with the intention to exceed those standards and provide practical applications for all subjects. - Experienced Teachers: All classes are taught by licensed teachers with several years of experience teaching middle school students. - Entertaining and Engaging: Parents can expect highly entertaining and engaging videos that encourage student participation and cater to different learning styles.

• Dinosaurs (Week 9 Science): While studying dinosaurs, there will be discussions about extinction, fossils, and prehistoric events. Some learners may find topics like extinction or paleontology a bit intense, but all materials will be age-appropriate.
