This one-time class is a special holiday visit with the real Mrs. Claus. Children will be immersed in the magic of Christmas in this personalized visit to the North Pole. Parents will send some personalized information to Mrs. Claus before class, and she will spend some quality time with each child talking about some of their Christmas wishes, asking about, for example, their pet by name or their favorite toy, etc. She may also check Santa's Naughty & Nice list for their name. Mrs. Claus will sing a Hello song with the children, and then read the holiday storybook, "A Visit From St Nicholas". During your child's visit, Santa will make an appearance via video from another part of the North Pole since he's very busy this time of year. Then the children will join Mrs. Claus in singing Jingle Bells to wrap up the visit. If there is any extra time, we may sing another preschool appropriate, secular holiday song, like "Snowflake, Snowflake".
學習目標
Even though this is not taught as a traditional school class, it does have the same elements of a regular story time and singing time class. It will strengthen social/emotional development, increase confidence, encourage imagination and allow for self-expression. It will provide a joyful shared reading and singing experience for preschoolers which, in turn, improves and enhances language development, reading comprehension skills, and school readiness.
