Have you ever wondered how our planet moves through space? How fast it spins? If it orbits the Sun in a circle or an ellipse? What the effects of these movements are? If so, then welcome to "A Moving Earth in Space: Seasons, Tides, Ocean Currents, and More!". We will discuss all of these and more in this class. We will examine how the Earth moves around its own axis and around the Sun, and then we will dive into the many different effects these movements cause. We will learn about the reasons...
Students will understand how our planet moves in space. They will be able to explain how/why we have seasons. They will also gain a basic understanding of how ocean currents and tides are created.
A link to the lesson slides will be provided to students before the lesson. I recommend printing the slides out for students to look at and take notes on throughout the class!
