電影音樂之旅

In this one time class, students will learn about what a movie music composer is and be exposed to some popular movie music composers.  We will go through basic music theory terminology that you could use to describe different kinds of music you may hear in a film.  We will also talk about how those different musical terms, and how they are implemented by a composer, could impact what you hear in a movie and how you as the viewer percieve what is happening in the scene while that music is played.  Then, we wil create our own 1-3 sentence movie scenes based off real soundtracks we listen to and interpret.  Finally, we will view the corresponding short clip from the actual movie to see how the scenes we created compare to what actually happened at that moment in the film.

This is an exploratory music class intended for any middle school aged student who enjoys music and movies- no specific prior experience with either topic is required.
