Students will be able to identify the types of volcanoes, explain how igneous rocks are formed, identify igneous rocks, understand how plate tectonics affects volcanic activity, be able to explain where volcanoes are located, and will build confidence by presenting a poster project on a volcano.

I am a geologist with real world field experience. I have conducted research at Topaz Mountain in Delta, Utah on a rhyolitic lava flow and presented my findings at multiple Geological Society of America conferences. I am also a homeschool mom who strives to present the best information to all students whether they are my own children or someone else's children. I believe the key to loving science is, first, understanding what is being presented and then being able to apply it in a fun and memorable way.
