課堂經歷
What Would You Do? Problem solve with Zippy and Mo is a fun hands-on class for children to practice their problem solving skills and learn how use various strategies and techniques when they are in social situations. Zippy and Mo are adorable hand held puppets and I will act out various social situations. The adorable puppets and real life scenarios are ones that every young child can relate to. Every student will get a chance to ask and answer questions about what these adorable puppets are doing. They will also get the chance to draw or write about what they would do. Each week two scenarios will be shared and discussed. At the end of the first class, each child will get to make their own puppets and learn ways to respond to each other. Week of September 20-24: Topic- What to Do When You Want Someone to Share & What to Do When Someone Takes Something From You Week of September 27- Oct. 1: Topic- What to Do When Someone is Messy & What to Do When Someone Doesn't Play Fair Week of October 3-7: Topic- What to Do When Friends Want to Do Different Things & What to Do When You Want to Play with Someone Week of October 11-15: Topics- What to do when you see someone who is hurt & What to do when someone is not careful Week of October 18-23: Topics- What to do when someone hurts you by accident & What to do when someone distracts you Week of October 25-30: What would you do when you are disappointed & what to do when someone is not careful

I have extensive training in the Second Step curriculum which is socio-emotional curriculum that is used in Pre-K, Elementary and Middle Schools. I took a two day workshop which helped me implement this program into my pre-k classrooom. In addition, I have taken PBIS (Positive Behavior Support System) training workshops for over a year at a huge program in Westchester County, NY. I have recieved over 30 hours of credit. These workshops helped me get a better understanding of how important it is to use socio emotional techniques while I am teaching. I have used these puppets and visual cards with preschoolers as part of my socio-emotional pre-k curriculum and my students have found them quite beneficial as I hope your children will as well.
