This is segment 1 of 5 of my 7th grade math course. It is intended to be a full year of 7th grade math when all 5 segments are taken. This segment will be broken down into the following units:
Unit 1: Integers
Unit 2: Operations with Integers
Unit 3: Decimals
Unit 4: Operations with Decimals
Unit 5: Number Theory
Unit 6: Fractions
Unit 7: Converting Fractions
Unit 8: Operations with Fractions Part 1
Unit 9: Operations with Fractions Part 2
Unit 10: Rational Numbers

Each unit is expected to take approximately a week, and varies between 2 and 5 lessons per unit. There will be a short video with examples for each lesson with additional practice problems for homework to follow. I will provide an answer key for each problem set, but please feel free to attach pictures of the students' work if they need additional explanations or feedback on any given problem throughout the course. Throughout the course, there will also be free response questions that students can respond to via a comment.

This course is not intended to be a stereotypical textbook math course that has word problems with little relevance to real life. This is a unique math course that explores topics through a homesteading lens, where example problems will have ties back to problems I face on the homestead every day. We have a homestead on almost 22 acres in Michigan, where we raise cattle, pigs, goats, chickens, and honeybees, as well as garden and cook from scratch almost every single day. Many of the skills we'll be covering in 7th grade math are put to good use on the homestead when I'm building a new structure for my animals, planning a new garden for the year, or cooking from scratch. Hopefully that extra layer of connection adds value to this math course and helps to maintain interest throughout the length of the course.

If students are in need of additional (live) 1:1 support, I also offer 1:1 tutoring sessions where they can meet with me live 1:1 to discuss any needs along the way. I offer these sessions in 25-, 55-, and 85-minute long blocks.
