📚 Join the Adventure of Classic Literature! 📚 Is your learner excited to explore great stories and dive into deep discussions? This book club is perfect for 6th and 7th-grade learners who want to build a love of reading, strengthen critical thinking skills, and practice literary analysis in a fun and supportive environment. This course is ideal if your learner wants to: ✅ Explore and appreciate classic novels ✅ Gain confidence in discussing and writing about literature ✅ Sharpen critical thinking and analytical skills ✅ Prepare for more challenging literature courses in middle and high school 🌟 How It Works 🌟 In this semester-long book club, we meet weekly to discuss age-appropriate classic literature. Each book is read over a 4-week period, allowing learners to engage deeply with the text. Pay weekly, and learners can join for any or all book discussions. Every class session includes: Warm-Up Discussion (5-10 min): Learners share first impressions, predictions, or thoughts on the week's reading. Literary Analysis Activity (15-20 min): Learners respond to prompts that explore themes, characters, and symbols. Group Discussion (15-20 min): Learners have deeper conversations about literary elements, ask questions, and engage with peers. Meg Connolly is a certified teacher with bachelors degrees in literature and philosophy. She has masters degrees in teaching ELA, grades 7-12, and in teaching students with disabilities. She has ten years of teaching experience both in the US public school system and online. She has taught a wide range of courses throughout her career, from self-contained special education ELA to Advanced Placement Literature and Language & Composition. In addition to her masters, she is TESOL certified and experienced in working with ESL students. She also writes her own fictional short stories for podcasts.
