(Note: I request that your learner watch the film version of this story AFTER reading and completing the book!!) While class meetings are scheduled for 50 minutes, I will remain in the classroom for an additional 15-20 minutes each session in...

- Please obtain the paperback version of The Mysterious Benedict Society, by Trenton Lee Stewart, published April 1st, 2008 by Little, Brown Books for Young Readers. (Please provide paperback books rather than electronic textsfor your learners for this class:) (It's important in class that we have the same printings of the books so we can use page numbers to find and share text excerpts in order to analyze them together.) - Please provide small sticky notes for your learner to annotate on if you don't want them to write directly in their books, otherwise, we'll treat this as a college student would traditionally treat a text, and annotate directly in the book.
In my classes we focus on high quality literature, reading for meaning, writing, and the natural world. My approach is warm, friendly, and investigative. I see students as fellow adventurers in this fascinating world we share. There's nothing more...
