Beginner - Advanced 等級
Class Content: This course is designed for learners at a fifth and sixth grade level and will encompass all parts of the reading and vocabulary materials. We will be utilizing the common core curriculum as a basis for this course and will be adjusting based on what learners need. Learners will learn and improve their reading/ELA skills at a fourth and fifth grade level in reading, comprehension, grammar/language arts, phonics, vocabulary, and writing.
I have been teaching in a brick-and-mortar school for 10 years and have been working with children for 20 years. I have taught all grades kindergarten through sixth grade. I have a minor in kindergarten-primary education, so for learners who are struggling I can utilize the skills for those grade levels even with older learners. I can easily differentiate to reach my students on their needs.

There will be various learning methods used during our class including slides, practice pages, games, craftivities, and hands-on learning.
Learners should be working at a 5th or 6th grade level in reading comprehension, fluency, and vocabulary skills.
Each week materials will be posted in the classroom on Sunday afternoon-evening EST. Please print all materials before class to get the best experince possible. During our welcome time learners will be able to grab any last minute materials but it would be best if materials are available prior to class because this class will have to stick to the time schedule listed. A general list of materials are as follows: pencils erasers coloring materials-markers, crayons, colored pencils scissors glue

Please be close by for learners, off screen, so if technical issues arise during class you can help. Depending on your learner's needs, please be close by for activities with scissors, glue, etc. Tech info: During class we may be using outschool approved websites such as kahoot, nearpod, or other websites. Students will need to know how to split screens or have a second device ready to go to get the most out of the online game activities. I will also have the option for learners to be able to use the chat features and screen share with the class if that is more comfortable for learners. National Geographic for Kids will be a website that we use for our research project. This website is designed for children by national geographic and offers lots of fun activities that kids can use to help them learn.
I will be using common core curriculum to develop engaging, grade level materials, dolch sight word lists, and various books. Each week I will post the book we will be reading on Sunday afternoons EST if you would like for your learner to have their own copy of the book to follow along with, but this is a personal preference. Learners are not required to have the books.
