In this 1-on-1 tutoring class, I will be utilizing the Spectrum Grade 1 Spelling and Spectrum Grade 1 Phonics books to introduce letters and sounds at the 1st grade level. If your child is an advanced kindergartener, that's fine as well. We will work together from both books to learn the consonants and vowels. - Students will improve their phonics and spelling skills at the 1st grade level. In the future, grammar skills will also be improved as they learn to use correct punctuation, capitalization, and grammar. The topics in these books will help students learn to associate sounds with letters, discriminate initial and final sounds, recognize rhyming words, differentiate pictures and identify objects, write letters and words and eventually short sentences. Skills such as consonant letters & sounds, short & long vowels, and blending/pairing will be taught.
