課堂經歷
This section is SUMMER only. Our first session will begin with an initials assessment to help customize a tutoring plan specific for your learner. Depending on that assessment, we will focus on one of two areas: Phonics Instruction: - A direct, systematic, multisensory approach will be used to help your learner develop the strategies and skills needed to read. - Learners will learn to crack the reading code so when they come to a word they do not know, they can break it apart to read it. - They will gain confidence in their reading ability because they have the skills and knowledge on how to read unknown words. Reading Comprehension: - We will use grade level appropriate reading passages to help learners develop reading comprehension skills. - Learners will be taught how to find key words in questions and skim text to find the answers. - Learners will develop skills to help with understanding of what is being asked in the question.

- Be able to decode and read unknown words easily

Hello Outschool families! My name is Heather Harmon, and I am thrilled to share my love of learning on Outschool with your learner. With 15 years of teaching experience, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to my classes.
I have a masters in education, and I am a certified teacher in elementary education, as well as a Reading Endorsement K-12. Over the years, I have specialized in helping students through extensive training in Science of Reading, dyslexia, and Orton Gillingham.
Throughout my career, I have demonstrated proven results in improving students' academic skills. My approach is tailored to meet the individual needs of each learner , ensuring that they not only learn but thrive. I believe that every child has the potential to succeed, and I am dedicated to unlocking that potential through engaging and interactive lessons.
I am passionate about teaching and committed to creating a supportive and dynamic learning environment where your learner will feel encouraged and motivated. I look forward to working with you and your learner to achieve their fullest potential and make learning a fun and rewarding experience.
