This class is designed for podcast enthusiasts who are thinking of transitioning from listener to podcast creator. This introductory one-time class helps students begin to clarify the main topic and format for their podcast and gain a realistic idea of what all is involved in podcasting. Things we will cover in class: -Sharing about favorite podcasts and ideas for creating a podcast -listen to and discuss clips from podcasts (noticing topic, format and style choices) -refining students...
I bring together different skills to help your learner with the different aspects of creating a podcast. My first area of expertise is in content creation across the disciplines. My post secondary education and teaching experience span many disciplines from Theatre and Drama to Philosophy, Chemistry & Environmental Studies. I will enjoy diving in to whatever topic your learner is passionate about. My second area of expertise is effective communication from the planning stage through final editing. I help young podcasters share their ideas in clear and engaging ways. My approach to technology is to keep the tech side of things simple, while still getting a good final product.
This class touches on cybersafety issue. I recommend discussing this with your child after class. We will not be recording or sharing podcasts during this class, but, once your child is ready to begin recording, I recommend that you review all content before they broadcast and be sure that you feel comfortable making it public.
