課堂經歷
Upon enrollment, you'll share on the classroom board which instrument of focus your learner will be exploring: ukulele, piano, Loog guitar, or singing & songwriting. Lessons are tailored to each learner's unique interests and individual growth. For ukulele or Loog guitar instruction, I'll use my own color chord method of song-based learning. Option to record audio songs as students go along! For piano instruction, Emily will recommend a curriculum series. Students will begin by learning the note letter names on the staff and then learn my color chord method for piano. Singing & songwriting as part of the instrument-learning process: Singing instruction will include breath techniques, solfege symbols, reading music on the staff, and performance techniques. Songwriting instructions will include learners creating their own lyrics, chord progressions, and melodies. They'll understand Verse and Chorus form and practice sharing their own songs.

Hello hello, I'm Emily Arrow!
I'm a children's musician, writer, and teacher with over 10 years of experience in K-6 education. A proud graduate of Berklee College of Music, I'm an award-winning children's songwriter endorsed by Kala Brand Ukuleles. I've published multiple books for kids including picture books and my popular, "Kids Guide to Learning the Ukulele," and I'm a lifelong learner who is passionate about teaching the next generation the expressive arts through ukulele, piano, singing, songwriting, poetry, and more!
My professional experience spans years in the classroom as an elementary music teacher to a touring musician, and even owning a kids' music & book shop in Nashville, TN a few years ago!
I am certified as an educator in the Orff-Shulwerk Music Education Method, and as a YogaEd Trauma-Informed Kids' Yoga Teacher.
My Outschool virtual classroom is especially welcoming of neurodivergent learners, and I am looking forward to helping your child connect to their learning goals through differentiated learning styles and approaches.
My publications include the best-selling "Kids’ Guide to Learning the Ukulele" (Happy Fox Books), "Kids' Ukulele Songbook," picture book "Studio: A Place for Art to Start" (Tundra Books), and a 4-book series "My Feelings, My Choices" (Cantata Learning).評論
