1:1文學與作文工作坊

Customize your exploration of literature in this individualized 1:1 workshop. This workshop is focused on close reading and writing critical analysis responses and will be tailored to the needs of the learner. We will work together to select grade-level appropriate literature that interests you. 

While this is an individualized class, I do run my literature and composition lessons in a set format. I teach literature from a formalist approach, examining the literary elements present in the selected work and exploring the author's purpose using evidence from the text. Learners interested in taking a literary criticism class from a specific lens should message me first before enrolling to discuss what they're looking for.  

+ Each week we will do a close reading and critical analysis of selected poetry, a short story, novel chapters, or scenes from a play. 
+ We will discuss the assigned reading together, then write an argument interpreting aspects of the text. 
+I will give extensive feedback on your writing focusing on ways to deepen your analysis and grow your writing skills. Learners are welcome to revise and resubmit their writing as many times as they need.

This class is focused on literature and I only offer private lessons focused on fiction. I’m open to any genres students are interested in under the fiction umbrella. Learners are always welcome to ask to explore specific poems, short stories, novels, and plays. I want to explore what interests them!
