課堂經歷
In this ongoing class, your young learner will be getting 1:1 attention based on their literacy needs. This class is designed around your child and what they need to be a successful reader. I have been an elementary tutor for six years and have helped many students with an array of literacy needs. I am flexible and able to meet the needs of your family. At the beginning of each week, we can discuss the learning goal for the class. This will help me individualize their lesson and materials before class starts. How will the class be structured? Each class will begin with an icebreaker to get warmed up. We then will do a quick review of what we discussed in the last lesson. Week 1, I will be doing some assessments to figure out an individualized plan for your leaner. We will spend the majority of the time working on that week's learning goal. We will be using lots of hands-on activities to keep their brain engaged while working on their weekly goals. These classes are 45 minutes with one-to-one instruction. Parents may enroll in as many sections as desired and have the flexibility to opt out at any time. Using my experience as a Pre-k teacher, ESL online teacher, and tutor, I want to make learning fun for my students. My teaching style is full of enthusiasm and creativity. It's important to me to create a warm and inviting classroom for my students to enjoy learning. I offer literacy and phonic classes for young learners ages Pre-k through elementary school. I am passionate about helping students learn to read, starting with the basics of phonics and working their way up to independent reading. Hello students and parents! My name is Mrs. Amber. I am so excited to be your teacher. My teaching style is full of enthusiasm and creativity. It's important to me to create a warm and inviting classroom for my students to enjoy learning. I want to offer literacy and phonic classes for young learners ages Pre-k through elementary school. I am passionate about helping students learn to read, starting with the basics of phonics and working their way up to independent reading. Below is a list of my professional background, degrees, and certifications I hold. Aside from teaching, I love to be adventurous with my family. We like to travel and spend time a lot of time outdoors. Come grow and learn with Mrs. Amber! I am excited to meet you.
Professional background:
- Bachelor's degree in Elementary- I am currently working on my degree in Elementary Education. I take educational classes that pertain to this degree as well as observe in a classroom setting.
- Preschool teacher- I have been working with preschool-aged children for 12 years. I started as a daycare preschool teacher for five years. For the past seven years, I have been an assistant pre-k teacher in a school-based setting. I help prepare lesson plans and teach the students.
- Online ESL ( English as a Second Language) teacher (Palfish)- I have been an online teacher for two years, tutoring students ages 3- 12 years old. I have taught phonics, reading comprehension, spelling, writing, and basic math with this online program.
- Tutoring- I have been tutoring elementary-aged (ages 5-10) student's literacy, phonics, and phonemic awareness for the past six years. I have taught letter identification, letter sound, CVC words, word families, blends, rhyming words, syllables, sight words, spelling, writing, and reading comprehension. I create my own lesson plans to meet the individual needs of each student.
- Children's Pastor- I am a children's pastor for ages birth through 5th grade. I create lesson plans and manage/ organize volunteers to help in our children's ministry.
-I am married and a mom of two children. Our son is 11 years old, and our daughter is four years old. I am not their teacher, but I assist with their educational needs daily.
Degrees and certificates:
I received my Associate of Art degree in 2018 from Black River Technical College. I am currently working on my bachelor's in elementary education from Grand Canyon University.
- CDA ( Child Development Associate) certificate. I received this credential in 2010 from Arkansas State University.
ESL ( English as a Second Language) TESOL certificate from International Open Academy in 2020.
