As students begin reading books at a young age, teaching them how to communicate their thoughts and ideas about the books they read is an important part of reading comprehension and expression. After this lesson, students will be able to: • Create an organized list of ideas when brainstorming • Use ideas from brainstorming to create a captivating book review • Present their book review stating their opinion and recommendation • Engage critically with a text • Respond personally to a range of different writing genres
