Hello!
My name is Ted Weinberg. I am an experienced teacher and tutor with over 7 years of experience working in education. I have a master's degree in education from Saint Peter's University and have worked as a fifth and sixth-grade math teacher as well. I am a member of Kappa Delta Pi, an international academic society reserved for the top 20% of students entering the field of education.
As a tutor, I have helped local students in my community overcome their academic struggles and build confidence towards whatever challenges they may face in the future. Prior to becoming a teacher, I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Television-Radio Production from Ithaca College and spent significant time working in the media industry. I have worked as an on-air talent, behind the scenes, and have written articles on topics such as sports, history, current events, pop culture, and television for different publishers.
In addition to having experience working in the traditional classroom setting, I am also currently an online ESL teacher and have taught over 500 English lessons to students in China. Working online has allowed me to adapt my two areas of expertise, education and media. I have very much enjoyed the experience of working online as it has allowed me to use all my strengths to become a better educator.
My teaching philosophy is centered on enthusiasm and patience. I believe that all of the facts of the world can be presented in a way that can appear interesting to students. I do this by making the material relatable to them and by showing them how it connects to their own lives each day. My teaching philosophy also believes that it is important for me to understand the academic attributes of all of my students, individually. After doing so, I formulate the speed of which I will teach the class.
Outside of the classroom, my passions include sports, music, animals, geography, outdoor activities, broadcasting, journalism, television, video games, and film. I am a hiking and nature enthusiast as well.
