Outschool is for kids ages 3 to 18. Every class lists an age range, so a 7-year-old is grouped with kids close in age rather than with teenagers.
Yes, and most families start that way. Pick the subject you'd rather not teach yourself, enroll in one class, and keep the rest of your week as it is. You can add more later.
Live small groups are best for discussion and accountability. Self-paced works when your week is unpredictable. 1-on-1 tutoring is the right call when a kid needs targeted help or wants to move faster. Mixing formats is normal.
You pay per class, starting around $10. There's no bundle to buy, so a light year costs less than a boxed program and a heavy year can cost more. Group classes cost less per hour than 1-on-1 tutoring.
Independent teachers. Some are certified classroom teachers, some are subject-matter experts, and some are artists, scientists, or coders sharing their work. Every teacher goes through a background check, and profiles show credentials, ratings, and reviews.
