We will read the book " I want to be a Dino-Kid".  (We will use the book  "I want to be a Dino-Kid" by Vince Cleghorne" published by Puppy Dogs and Ice Cream.) This book has great illustrations and shows a kid imagining what he could do if he were a Dino-Kid. We will talk about how to deal with situations that we feel we can't control, strategies to handle feelings, and the importance of rules and why we should follow them. Students can share what kind of dinosaur they would like to be and why. Discussion on ways to make good choices when situations arise that we don't like will also be included. There will be a time for students to draw themselves as a dinosaur in a situation that they feel they would like to be a Dino-Kid. We will share and talk about their pictures. No prior knowledge required.
