In this multi-day class students will practice their writing and sentence completion while creating their own "All About Me" book. We will talk about our favorites, what we look like, and who we love. Drawings will be made to match all our sentences and on our final class day, students will get to share their booklets with their friends. Class topics are: Class One: Talking about our FIRST names, age, and where we live (country/state ONLY). Class Two: Describing our physical appearance. Class Three: Talking about our favorite color, animals, and movies. Class Four: Show and tell of our books and favorite items. Class schedule goes as follows*: (00:00-00:08) Class Welcome and Introductions Class Behavior Expectations and Rules (00:08-00:10) Review of Sentence Structure (00:10-00:15) Class Topic Explanation Teacher Examples (00:15-00:35) Student Work Time to Complete Sentences and Drawings (00:35-00:45) Students Can Share their Sentences Teacher Review of Class Topic Class Goodbyes *Depending on class size and level of student participation, class time may vary.

A short story type packet will be provided to students. This will have tracing letters to help improve confidence with learners. Students will also get a chance to write their own words in their booklet after class discussion. ********The packet will need to be printed PRIOR to class and will be used during our classes.**********

HI! I'm Ariel and I can't wait to meet you in the classroom. Yes, ARIEL, like the mermaid! I love helping students develop a love of writing, delve into their curiosity of the world around them through science, and explore the magic of beloved fantasy worlds like Disney and Harry Potter. I have my advanced teaching license for Elementary Education as well as English as a Second Language. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2013. I then received my Master's Degree in Elementary Education from the world renowned Johns Hopkins University in 2015 I live outside of Baltimore, Maryland with my husband and little kitten. I love to sing, smile, and make children laugh.
Ever since I was a little kid I knew I wanted to be a teacher. I love learning even now as an adult, and there is nothing better than helping students learn and share my passion for education. I am currently in my ninth year teaching in Maryland Public Schools. Working online has given me so much joy and I cannot wait to continue teaching here with Outschool.
