겨울/봄 쓰기 워크숍: 청소년을 위한 개인 맞춤형 1:1 쓰기 지원

Get writing support from a positive, caring, certified writing instructor! I believe tutoring and support sessions should be relaxed and focused on your student. My goal is to make writing tutoring and support as fun and engaging possible. In these one-on-one tutoring or support sessions, I will use the first class to evaluate your teen's needs or skills using information provided by you and standards for their age level. 

The "evaluation" usually consists of a relaxed discussion  and some fun writing practice through worksheets or prompts that I will provide to you prior to the first class. I will use that information and information about their learning style to create a learning plan for your student.

We will do writing exercises or worksheets in each class. I will provide you with any worksheet or writing prompt materials for the week before each class. You may attend for as short or as long as you like, or we can discuss a set number of weeks you would like to attend. 

Topics Covered: The specific topics will depend on your student, especially if they have specific support goals drawn from school or homeschooling. In general, skills worked on may include writing narratives, writing to argue a position or support claims, writing expository texts, conducting research to answer questions for writing, improving and integrating academic vocabulary, preparing for writing testing, writing literary analyses, improving creative writing, incorporating evidence into writing, enhancing word choice, discovering the power of literary devices, and more. 

Class Structure: It's like a one-on-one tutoring session, where we use worksheets or fun writing prompts to strengthen skills. I incorporate social discussion regarding writing and using our imagination creatively to write pieces. 

My Teaching Style: I am warm, friendly, and my teaching style is ultimately tailored to your child. I do use the state of Florida's ELA and writing standards as a guide. I also pull from Advanced Placement and college-level writing resources. I am 100% collaborative with parents and students, so if there is something you think your child needs to improve on, please let me know. I want to ensure that we are strengthening any critical areas while addressing the typical English Language Arts and writing standards for this age level. 

How I Interact: I will send messages to parents through the app, provide attachments to print or setup for your student, I will engage in active discussion with your student throughout the class, and I will offer visuals and audio as they enhance the class and where appropriate.
