Throughout this course, students will meet with the instructor via video chat. The first part of the class will consist of a brief lecture. This will be followed by discussion and time for questions followed by an interactive activity to further the students understanding of the concepts taught that session.This course will cover: Week one: Shakespeare's birth and family life, his time in Stratford-Upon-Avon, his wife and children Week two: His early years spent in London,including how he...
Students will be able to identify significant events in Shakespeare's life and how they shaped his work. They will be able to understand the language used in his works as well as the words and language that were influenced by Shakespeare today. Students will become familiar with the culture and history of Shakespeare's time. Students will be able to identify his major works.
I have a minor in British literature. I have always loved Shakespeare and have written several papers for coursework about him. I have taught this particular several times over the years.
Worksheets and craft handouts will be provided by the teacher. External resources will be listed by the teacher and uploaded. Students will need a journal and pens for note taking as well as possibly scissors, glue, and markers for crafts.
