Students will learn how to read notes on a staff, as well as practice techniques and mnemonic devices for note reading. We will also introduce the C Major Chord along with recognizing new symbols in theory.

With practice and review outside of class, students will begin to develop a discipline and be able to play in C Position with the attainable goal of playing the C Major Chord (holding down 3 keys in one hand if fingers are strong enough)

Therefore students must have regular (at least 4 times a week) access to a piano or keyboard of at least 61 keys to participate in this class

During class learners may practice music theory (note reading, note values, rhythmic dictation, key recognition, etc.) using the following online resources used as activities or presentations led by the Instructor IN CLASS ONLY: www.musictheory.net, musicteachertech.com, boomlearning.com, Canva, You Tube, Pinterest. Instructor may attach assigned worksheets for learners to complete from purchased books from the Instructor's library or materials from the following websites: Pinterest or teacherspayteachers.com
