This vocabulary course was designed for upper elementary and middle school students struggling with reading comprehension, vocabulary, and spelling. Each week a new list of fifteen words is assigned. - Students will be able to use fifteen new vocabulary words in their writing and conversations. They will improve their reading comprehension over time by learning the meanings of fifteen new words every week.
I am a state-certified Elementary Teacher in Missouri. In my private reading tutoring practice, I have watched my students become strong and independent readers and spellers by using my approach. I have taught nearly 3,000 students on Outschool since March 2020 in first through middle school grade levels.

The method of instruction, for the spelling component of this class, is Phono-Graphix which is based on the Science of Reading and is Dyslexia-friendly.
This class is appropriate for advanced 5th-grade students and 6th-8th graders.
Students will need a vocabulary journal. This can be a spiral notebook, a composition book, or a 3-fastener folder with writing paper.
