Vocabulary Builder is a course that has been designed to strengthen and enrich your child's awareness and implementation of academic vocabulary words. Unfortunately, students are not being challenged to learn new vocabulary in school each year. This is a salient skill that contributes to the reading process. This course will be presented using a PowerPoint Presentation and a Vocabulary Workshop workbook. Each lesson will focus on learning twenty new words for 15 or more class sessions. The ultimate goal for this class is for each child to learn 300 new academic vocabulary words that they can use for life. This course is appropriate for students in grade 6 or above. Students who are in high school are also highly encouraged to enroll in this course.
