수업 소개
At the end of this class, students will be able to play "Country Gardens", an English Morris dance transcribed by Samuel Applebaum. This song is found in a book of solos entitled "First Solos from the Classics" by Samuel Applebaum. The publisher is G. Schirmer in New York and London. In addition to learning the song, students will also learn or reinforce accompanying techniques for achieving dynamics, intonation, pattern recognition, slur, rhythm, and double stops (two double stops are at the end). The classroom will have weekly discussion threads. Students are expected to share and participate. Students are expected to record their own progress on the violin with this piece. The lines of music are broken down among 4 weeks and different topics will be discussed for the lines of music. I have a general love for teaching and have many interests! My favorite content area is communication and that extends into other areas like English as a New Language, English writing, literature, and pscyhology. I am also interested in "teacher support;" creating resources and sharing ideas for the classroom or teaching your student at home.
Philosophies:
First: Ultimately I like learners to pursue their own interests and curiosities and they should be given time and resources to do so.
Next: People learn by doing when the environment can be manipulated for their exploration.
Thirdly: Students need experience with technology, engineering, science and math.
Fourth: Students need structured activities to improve focus and technique.
Fifth: Productivity is a skill that can be identified and developed.
Fun and Personal:
I like to tell and write "jokes." Hobbies I enjoy are running, cooking, painting, writing and reading.
