"Victory Garden" gives a basic, but thorough understanding of:
Garden planning, soil preparation, planting, pest management, harvesting, and seed saving. 
These fundamental skills promote sustainable living. 

With the rising costs of groceries and desire to limit chemical use in our foods, we look to inspiration from the Victory Gardens made famous during WWII. But that isn't where home gardens started! For thousands of years, people have grown their own foods. It is only in recent history that we are blessed with the convenance of supermarkets, fast foods and pizza delivery. You can start your own Victory Garden today!

You will be provided a PDF workbook to print. We'll use this in class.
There is an instructional/lecture portion and a game in each class. 
Each class will have an easy craft. 
There is no homework, but I will notify you via the classroom message board of any craft supplies needed. 
This class may get messy. Please protect your electronic devices and surfaces from dirt and debris! I will notify you when we are using messy materials. 

Week 1: Introductions, terms & definitions, goals, and "how much to plant."
Week 2: Charting, location, and composting.
Week 3: Seed selection, starting seeds, and using plant cuttings
Week 4: Pest management, companion planting
Week 5: Harvesting and seed saving
Week 6: Review

This class was developed for learners who wanted MORE time and information than was possible in my other classes. Victory Garden is a more in-depth version of my "Plan Your Garden" class and replaces the composting class.
