수업 소개
This 6-week course is not like my previous two 6-week courses. Yes, we will practice speaking and reading in Spanish. However, we will also expand our cultural and geographical knowledge about the Hispanic world while communicating in Spanish in hypothetical authentic experiences. We will begin each class with a quick intro to the country we will focus on and a short virtual tour based on the setting of the lesson (i.e. the museum, the beach, the rainforest, etc.). Afterwards, I will give short, direct instruction on the vocabulary and grammar that we will use (with quick checks for understanding and formative assessments). Lastly, we will spend the rest of class time discussing what we see and answering the lesson's main questions in Spanish. (Do not worry! I will have scaffolding materials easily visible to students so that they can use them if they need an extra resource besides their notes.)

La ciudad en la República Dominicana/The city in the Dominican Republic

El campo en Honduras/The countryside in Honduras

Students will need access to the PearDeck platform, Canva, Google Slides and Google Docs. I will sometimes use short YouTube clips to aid in the virtual tours.

¡Hola estudiantes y familias! It is great to meet you. My name is Vicky Stankowski and I teach beginner to advanced levels of Spanish on Outschool. I taught Secondary Spanish for the past nine years in Ohio. I have also taught English as a Second Language through an online platform called VIPKID for the past seven years. I have always believed that education is the key to any success a person wants and I am amazed at how accessible education is, especially in today's world. Education should be fun and it should be an engaging experience. It is a two-way street. I enjoy teaching Spanish and ESL because they foster global citizens for life!
