Welcome, US explorers! In this ongoing class, students will explore the 50 states and territories of the USA each week. Learner's are introduced to the state's history, major geographical features, capital city, national parks and other notable landmarks. Students will also create and gather state flags each week. This is an enrichment class, so students may join or take a break at any time. Lessons will involve a slideshow presentation with opportunities for students to express their opinions. My teaching style is engaging and interactive. I always welcome sharing of any fun facts students may know about the state before lesson begins. I often utilize websites like Google maps to give students an immersive virtual learning experience. After each class, there will be game time to review the lesson. This class uses blooket. This is a fun, gamified learning platform that enables students to review class material by answering questions in a quiz-style format. Students do not need an account or additional device to play the game. I will send a direct link to the game where the student clicks and joins the game directly.
We may also use Google Earth and Google Maps to explore different places around the state. Please note that some video content is from Youtube (learners will watch no more than 2 minutes). Content is age-appropriate and will be screen-shared. Learners will not go onto any external websites.
