Students will learn to examine their thoughts, actions, and behaviors in group settings versus when they are alone, or in a one-on-one situation. It is my hope that they will grow emotionally from this class by learning to understand and examine their decision-making in different environments.
Dr. Weisner graduated from Georgetown University in 1999 and was awarded a research fellowship at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Washington, D.C. She went on to receive her Doctorate in Psychology and pursue post-doctorate education at the American Institute of Psychoanalysis in New York City. Currently, Dr. Weisner specializes in suicidal teenagers and adults with anxiety and relationship issues. Dr. Weisner recently released her first book, Ten Steps To Finding Happy, which had the misfortune of premiering the first week of quarantine. Dr. Weisner is also an expert blogger at Psychology Today: The Venn Diagram Life, the host of the Neurotic Nourishment Podcast, and the co-host of the True Crimes of Long Island Podcast. This class looks at a historical tragedy through the lens of individual and group psychology.
