This will be an ongoing class and new topics will be added each week. Each week we will use recyclables to make one or two person games. We will discuss the importance of recycling and up-cycling and the ways in which we can do both of them. Week of March 13th : Shark Bait We will use a plastic bottle, yarn, and bottle lids to make a hungry shark with a fish to eat. Week March 20th: Bottle Zoom We will use plastic bottles, duct tape, and string to make a two person bottle zoom. Week...
Students will improve their understanding of recycling and learn what up-cycling is. They will also learn new ways in which they can do both and why doing so can help out environment.
Supplies: Week One: 1 plastic bottle 3 bottle lids permanent markers (for decorating) duct tape (any color you'd like) yarn (any color) google eyes (optional) small paper (for fin on fish) scissors Week Two: 2 plastic bottles duct tape (any color) 6 ft. yarn scissors Week Three: shoebox 4 bamboo skewers 6 clothes pins sharpie duct tape ping pong ball sharpies Week Four: 7 plastic bottles scissors with lids duct tape
You know your student's abilities better than I will. We will be using scissors to cut the plastic bottles. Pease make sure you are nearby if you think your student will need help with this part of the crafts. Also, please make sure to wash the recyclables before class so that they are dry and ready for us to use.
