Students will learn about the different groups of the table, along with the differences in classifications, including which elements are metals, noble gases, and which are solid at room temperature versus liquid or gas. Students will also learn which  What is the periodic table, what's in a box and classifications.

I am a science and math teacher having taught elementary science for 2 years, and have taught middle school science for 8 years from 6-8th grade, and math. I am licensed as a science teacher from 6-12 grade, with a Masters in Science Education. I like making learning relate to real world experiences so students can connect to material easier than standard memorization. I review in a flow pattern that starts with basic information and expands into complex information to assist students with retention.

In this class, students will also be given the opportunity to complete a project and a final assessment for mastery. 
Assessment: Students will receive an assessment at the end of the class for mastery. 
Project: Students will complete a "Your favorite Element" project (template will come from Google Slides and will be included in the classroom in week 1 to give students time to research the project and complete for the final week's submission)

We will refer to the Periodic Table of Elements in this class, with a printout for coloring as we go through each group each week. Students will be able to color the group in, as well as will be provided a notetaker to fill in regarding the elements each week. Activities will be able to be printed or submitted online through Google Docs (by copying and pasting the code in the learner's conversation tab.
