Join me to learn about life in the past compared to the present, and to create your own book!  This class aligns to first grade social studies standards on comparing life in the past and present but is a great class for any child who is interested in learning more about the past :).  This class will focus on past and present inventions that have had a significant impact on everyday living.  We will also discuss ideas of future inventions they may impact our lives one day.

This class will help young leaners to develop the concept of time and chronology by distinguishing among past, present and future.  In each class, learners will be completing a graphic organizer to place in their "Past, Present and Future" book that they will be creating with me in class.  I will be providing all handouts before each class session begins.  Each learner will need to print out each handout before class.

Each class will be taught using pictures (presented through a PowerPoint presentation) and discussion.  Time will be allotted during each class for learners to work on their "Past, Present, and Future" books and to share their ideas with others.  By the end of our last session, each learner should have a good understanding of time and chronology in addition to a book that they will have created on their own (this book might be a great keepsake to hang onto to share with them in the future ;).

Class 6- Review plus a focus on favorites from the past, present and future + complete graphic organizer (page 6 of book) + share
