In this one time class, students will identify the parts of a book before enjoying a read aloud of the classic folktale The Mitten by Jan Brett. Students will be encouraged to predict what will happen next in the story, which Jan Brett does a phenomenal job leaving hints in the ornately detailed pictures and borders. After the story we will work on lacing together the mitten to create a pocket to place the animals from the story inside as we recount the story. This is a fun way for students to revisit the book even after our class!
