In this class, students will learn about the life of Helen Keller, discuss the meaning of adversity and the challenges that Helen had to overcome, and look at some Helen Keller quotes to determine their meaning and how they fit in the context of her life and work. Class will begin with a Power Point presentation which will give a broad overview of Helen's life. Following that, students will watch a short video clip from the Smithsonian channel which talks about some of the specialized...
Students will gain an understanding of the life of Helen Keller and the impact she had on history. Students will discuss challenges and adversities faced by people with disabilities and ways in which they can be overcome. Students will use famous quotes to gain an appreciation of Helen Keller's legacy.
