Each week students will practice a different writing method or genre. Each class will begin with a quick mini-lesson on the genre or method of writing for the week. Students will then be given a prompt. The class will work together to brainstorm ideas. The final part of class will be focused on getting students started on their writing. Writing Prompts will vary based on the topic of the week. The information needed to fully and completely answer prompts will also be provided. Students may also post to the classroom ideas about what they might like to write about. The Book Review and Movie Review Days are days that require the graphic organizer. These two types of writing are quite formulaic and require a specific format.
Single Learner Classes:
- Single learner classes will go ahead as scheduled unless learner and family request otherwise.
- If the lesson ends early, learners will have writing time at the end of class.
