수업 소개

In this class students will be introduced to SMART goals. We will be learning to make goals that actually get accomplished, which will set them up for success and increased well being now and in the future!

Week 1: We will learn and discuss why goals are important and be introduced to the strategy of SMART goals.

Week 2: We will learn to tell the difference between a regular goal and a SMART goal. We will then create our first personal SMART goal and learn to TAKE ACTION!

Week 3-6: Each following week we will continue to review the strategy of making SMART goals, we will review & share our own personal SMART goal experiences and the feelings that went along with them. We will then build on these SMART goals or create new SMART goals each week based on individual goals and personal progress. As we work through this course students should start to gain an awareness of how creating and acting on SMART goals increases success and increases well being by creating feelings of greater contentment and happiness! 

This course is taught via presentation and interactive discussion. A minimal amount of writing will be expected when brainstorming and writing our SMART goals. 

This is an EXCELLENT course for students preparing for college!

I teach classes that center around the important aspects of "Whole Wellness". I have over 20 years in the health and wellness field, Masters Degree in Exercise Science & Health Promotion, Bachelors in Cellular Biology and multiple certifications/specializations through the National Academy of Sports Medicine, to include: Certified Personal Trainer, Certified Nutrition Coach, Weight Loss Specialist, Sports Nutrition Specialist, and Behavior Change Specialist. I also hold certifications through Yogafit and National Association of Speed and Explosion. I teach wellness classes to children locally, as well as specialize in one on one wellness coaching of children and adults all over the World! As a kidney transplant recipient, and Polycystic Kidney Disease Warrior, I have adopted an approach to wellness that is truly a life long learning approach. I believe it is vital to approach Wellness in a realistic step by step manner, as opposed to the "all or nothing" behavior that is seen all too often.

Additional fun tidbits for the kids: Some of my favorite activities are stand up paddle boarding, yoga and snowboarding! I absolutely LOVE the water, but lived in the Mojave Desert for over 5 years!
