Hello! Welcome to "Take Me to Hawaii for Christmas." This is a 30-minute class for curious students ages 6-10 years old. A small class size offered here will allow your child ample opportunity to participate and speak in class. In this lesson, I will emphasize the importance of respecting individuals and cultural differences in order to create a safe and positive classroom experience. Students will have the opportunity to learn, understand, and appreciate Hawaiian traditions. We will explore Hawaiian Christmas words and phrases, learn about Shaka Santa (Santa Claus) and Tutu Mele (Mrs.Claus), talk about different dishes served on Christmas day and conclude the lesson with a sing-along of "Mele Kalikimaka" while I play my ukulele. So, with this in mind, let's open our minds and hearts to a new cultural experience in Hawaii this Christmas. I hope this lesson will spark interest in learning and experiencing more cultures around the world. I look forward to meeting your child in class.
