In this Ice Cream Summer Camp, your child will get to participate in read aloud stories and activities that are all about ice cream. They will learn how ice cream is made and how it gets to the store. Each session will have a particular focus. Students will participate in movement and reading activities to increase their pre-reading and comprehension skills. Learners will understand how ice cream is made and how it gets to the store. Students will also learn/review parts of a book, as well as what the author, and illustrator does. Students will learn how to identify rhyming words, and how to retell a story. Students will also learn the importance of friendship, kindness, and sharing. Students will learn to sort letters and numbers.
I am a kindergarten classroom teacher, and have also taught young learners online for 3 years.
Some sessions will require handouts that will be provided. A simple 5-ingredient ice cream recipe will also be provided for the last session.
