Do you love Studio Ghibli and would love a watercolor course focused on your favorite characters? Want a fun and relaxed setting to practice your watercoloring skills? Would you like to learn some fun facts about your favorite Studio Ghibli characters as you work? Then this class is designed for you! This four-week class will have students focus on sketching, drawing and watercoloring. Students will learn how to break down their characters into simple shapes, use proper proportions,...
Students will learn the following art/drawing fundamentals: ✅ Utilizing basic shapes to create a more complex form. ✅ Proper measurements and proportions for the chosen character. ✅ Practice and utilization of applying symmetry. ✅ How to properly utilize watercoloring and multiple watercolor techniques. ✅ The confidence to continue drawing the anime face on their own after the class has been completed.
Mrs. Vallarta has been focusing on anime/art on Outschool since February 2018. As a personal avid anime enthusiast, she is familiar with many series, genres, characters and can teach how to execute any aspect of this. Mrs. Vallarta has her Bachelors in Fine Arts and has taught art for 18+ years. Five of those years has been online. Mrs. Vallarta offers over 50 different types of courses that include but not limited to; general anime, anatomy, art, drawing, watercoloring and more.

💠 Watercolors 💠 Watercolor brushes 💠 Watercolor paper 💠 Cup (for water) 💠 Towels/rags (excess water/accidental spillage) 💠 Pencil 💠 Pencil sharpener 💠 Eraser (vinyl recommended) 💠 Fine-tip permanent pen (Sharpie and Micron recommended) 💠 Blue painters tape (optional)
We will be painting throughout this class. Please set up an area where your child can use the computer while working with paint. Students will be encouraged to work on an angled surface. You can attach the watercolor paper with tape to a board and prop it or use a book to prop against. This is highly recommended as we will use gravity to manipulate the paint.
We will be referring to multiple films from the Japanese animation studio; Studio Ghibli.
