**This class involves a hands on STEM project! Please review the supply list if you would like your child to participate in that portion with us!** In this Storybook STEM class your child will participate in a Read-Aloud of the featured story and complete a coordinating STEM activity. The class will be broken up into two parts focusing in both English Language Arts (ELA) and Science/STEM (Science Technology Engineering Math). This class is great for learners of every level, from beginning...
Students will practice and learn key ELA strategies for young readers that will include (but not limited to) reading comprehension, fluency, real world connections, making inferences, comparing and contrasting, etc. Students will build and perfect problem solving skills. In STEM activities, students learn how to analyze problems and then work to correct and overcome them. Students will be able to express their creativity along with innovation as they work through the design process of the STEM activity. Students will build confidence and speaking skills as they share their final products with their class peers. STEM education is an amazing learning experience that integrates four major content areas and brings real-world application to those areas. Students have the opportunity to collaborate and apply all of their skill and knowledge to solve a problem or improve an idea.
