This is a 12-Week Semester Series. Classes will meet ONCE every week through the course of the curriculum. - By the end of this course, students will have honed their observational and sketching abilities, enabling them to proficiently represent still-life subjects. They will demonstrate skill in rendering objects, manipulating lighting, and crafting well-balanced compositions. Additionally, students will have gained familiarity with a range of drawing materials and techniques, empowering them to create intricate and captivating still-life sketches.
Teacher Allie May is a contemporary artist who loves to indulge in all mediums, but focuses most on drawing and painting. She is a graduate student in the BFA program at California State University Long Beach, and aims to pursue a career in teaching art. Her art influence began at a young age, but she considers herself “self-taught.” Allie is passionate about encouraging students to master the fundamental skills and technical aspects of creating, but also develop a style that is unique to each student. Her promise is to encourage a mindset where students are confident in themselves and their ability to create.
