I'm so excited to offer a 5-day STEM camp! The format of this camp is similar to my other classes, where I teach content and then learners are able to build and explore. Each day students will have a different challenge which is geared to promote higher order thinking skills and creativity! Day 1: Dinosaurs: Can you build a replica of your favorite dinosaur? Day 2: History of Boats: Can you design a boat that is able to float and hold objects? Day 3: Catapults: Can you build a catapult that...
Students will use their engineering skills to create, explore, and problem solve. Each day students will learn about a popular topic and then they will create something that matches the topic we're covering.
The majority of the items can be found around your home. Your learner will need the following items: - paper - tin foil - plastic wrap - paper towel or toilet paper roll - glue/tape - paper plates - popsicle sticks - plastic spoon - rubber bands - a few pieces of candy( day 3) - string - plastic or styrofoam cups - any other items you have around the house.
Some students may need additional support with materials.
