Students will be able to explain the genesis of the field of psychology and its impact on society in the 20th and 21st centuries. They will become familiar with several major theorists and five paradigms. They will be able to demonstrate knowledge of how psychology is put into practice in different careers and fields. They will understand that the socioeconomic context in which science is developed affects its accessibility and applicability to marginalized groups.
