**Prerequisite Skills** Distributive Property, Integer Operations, Combining Like Terms, and Solving One-Step Equations (Students who are not comfortable performing the prerequisite skills may not receive the full benefit of this class as laid out in the course description. Please ensure your learner knows these before class begins! We will briefly review the prerequisite skills at the beginning of class.)

Class Description:
Students will learn the optimal way to solve multi-step equations! Multi-step equations can be solved using this one mnemonic device. Don't Call Me After Midnight stands for Distribute/Simplify, Combine like terms, Move variable to one side, Add/subtract, Multiply/divide. 
Students have the option to print the notes page or copy it on their own paper. Looking forward to learning together!

Teaching Format:
This class will be taught in a collaborative format. I will lead some examples to walk students through using the mnemonic device on our guided notes. I will then turn the students loose to solve the equations themselves, with assistance and review as needed. Lastly, I will have students work together on an *incorrectly* pre-solved problem. They will have to critically analyze the example to find the errors and correct answer.

Teaching Style:
My philosophy that drives my teaching is that every student is a unique person who is worthy of my time. I give verbal encouragement throughout class and allow students opportunities to engage in the learning process. I love setting students up to think critically while learning and hearing them explain their reasoning. I also respect students who are more reserved, engaging them at their level of comfort.
