Welcome to our fifth-grade U.S. History class! In this exciting and interactive course, we will embark on a fascinating journey through the early history of the United States, exploring the events, people, and ideas that shaped our nation up to the mid-1800s. Learners will explore themes of history, geography, economics, civic responsibility, and government. **This class does NOT have a live meeting.** A video explaining the week's topics will be posted in the classroom each week.

Learners will be able to identify and describe significant events, such as the American Revolution, the drafting of the U.S. Constitution, and westward expansion.Learners will analyze the causes and effects of major historical events and movements.

This course will sometimes contain topics of a sensitive nature. The course will use multiple viewpoints when discussing historical topics. If any insensitive or inappropriate discussions or comments take place, the teacher will address the comment and then redirect the discussion. If this occurs more than once, parents will be notified through an email on the Outschool platform.
