In this weekly, ongoing social skills class, we will use conversation starters (games and conversation cards) to help kids keep engaged in conversation. Conversation games are used to help facilitate students sharing about themselves and asking questions of one another. We will be working on skills such as turn taking, keeping conversation flowing, staying on topic, asking questions, listening to our classmates and making appropriate comments.... all while having fun and making friends! ...
The teacher of this class is Angela Blanchet. Angela has degree in psychology and several years experience working with the special needs population. Angela has been running social skills classes for kids on the autism spectrum, both in person and online, for several years. She is also the mom of two teens who have autism. She has been homeschooling her children, as well as tutoring other children with special needs for the past 10 years. Angela loves working with the special needs population and uses their abilities and interests to help them reach their goals.
