Students will go over social skills in a polite slow paced environment. 

I am offering this class, as I have a child with ASD and I have always taught him how to act in the real world. We have not relied on therapists because the therapists generally want to teach your child how to be different and not always in good way. I have always taught my son that you should be honest with your feelings and actions. Being different in thinking is NOT a bad thing for anyone including a child.  I have taught my son for 8 years so far(this is how old he is) and will continue to do so. I want every child to be honest and not feel that they need to 'fit in' I am giving you the skills to work with others and be friends with others, but you never have to 'fit in' in my room:)

There are weekly worksheets and assignments each week. The worksheets are optional but highly recommended. The assignment of practicing social skills is not optional and I will be looking for a 'story' each week to make sure the student understands the social skills.
