Soccer has taken the world by storm and some of the up-and-coming players have quite the stories. In this class students will read short biographies on some of the most prominent players in the game. While reading, we will pause to analyze the certain choices those players made and the experiences they had. We will also compare and discuss what we would have done had we been in those players shoes. Some of the players we might discuss: Kylian Mbappe Erling Haaland Christian Pulisic Yunus...
- Social and Discussion Skills: Students will be able to meet other students with a passion for soccer! In doing so, they will learn and practice conversational skills. - Comprehension and Analysis: Students will be presented with a script and presentation of soccer players and be able to express their analysis of the same (and similar) players. - Critical Thinking: Students will respond to comprehension questions relevant to prominent soccer players.
In my current profession, I work for a football analytics company where I input data, analyze, and grade different soccer teams and players in the Premier League, Ligue 1, La Liga, Serie A, MLS, and Bundesliga. During my career, I have developed an extensive knowledge on different tactics, leagues, clubs, and most importantly, the different players that play all around the world.
